The Hotel Ambassadeur a 84 roomed three-star hotel, opened its doors in 1961. It became famous as an important hub in East Africa politics.
As the only up market African peoples hotel, it played host to East African presidents, Senior Government officials and civil servants as well as Elite Africans in various conferences and meetings of state.
A notable regular resident at the hotel was the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta - Kenya’s first president.
